Early Life
Atif Aslam was born on 12th March, 1983 in Wazirabad, Pakistan. He left wazirabad and soon moved back to Lahore (his hometown) and started his education.
He spent his childhood in Kimberley Hall School, Lahore and St. Paul’s Cambridge School, Rawalpindi.
Atif Aslam first performed at a fancy dress competition when he was in 1st class. He dressed as the former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team “Imran Khan”. Atif was more passionate about cricket than anything else. He wanted to become a cricketer as a fast bowler some day and music was probably the last thing on his mind. Atif’s parents wanted him to become a doctor instead he did computer engineering. He started graduation in F.SC from PAF Inter College, Lahore and completed his only bachelor degree.
Music Career
In his teenage years, his friends encouraged him to sing. He participated in several competitions and won them all. Then, he decided to record our own song. “Aadat” is a first song was recorded by Atif as a part of band. However, the band called “Jal” (Water in English). The Song got more popularity, he plans to make music video for Aadat. The music video was shot in warehouse in Karachi. The song and the video were surrounded by a lot of controversies. Atif decided to continue his career as a solo artist.
Debut
After leaving Jal band, Atif released his first album the title is “Jalpari” on 17th July, 2004 under Sound Master and IC Records. The album featured various smash hit tracks such as “Bheegi Yaadein”, “Ehsaas”, “Mahi Ve”, “Aakhon Se”, along with the title track “Jalpari”. The album later declared it to be the best selling album of that year within just 5 months of its release. Atif become popular in India and his career took off to fame in both countries.
Bollywood
After Sucess of Jalpari, He got a chance to give our voice in bollywood. He started his career as a playback singer in bollywood with the song “Woh Lamhey” for the movie “Zeher”. The remix version of “Woh Lamhey” also sung by Atif. The movie released in “2005” and Atif’s voice become an instant hit with the indian audience. Atif went to india to perform several times. He was received great responce from fans and admires that had fallen in love with the voice of Atif.
Doorie (Album)
In 2006, Atif Aslam decided to unveil his second album. Atif sign a contract with Music Company “Tips” in India. The album titled “Doorie” was released on 22nd December, 2006. The album featured various smash hit tracks such as “Ehsaas”, “Hum Kis Galli Ja Rahe Hain”, “Kuch Is Tarah”, “Mahiya Ve Soniya” along with the title track “Doorie”. All songs recived excellent responce.
Meri Kahani (Album)
Meri Kahani is a third album was released worldwide on 18th January, 2008. The songs include “Kinara”, “Rabba Sacheya”, “Mann Hota Hain”, “Humrahi”, “Kaun Tha”, “Kyon Chhod Gaye”, “Joug”, “Yaaro” along with the title track “Meri Kahani”.
Coke Studio
In 2009, Atif made his presence felt in the show “Coke Studio” produced by Rohail Hyatt. Coke Studio is a music show which showcases live performances of artists. Atif very first time gave live performance on Coke Studio. He was sang “Jalpari” with various artist and his present a unique blend of fusion music. Over the course of the season Atif Aslam performed the following songs below:
